American Friends of the HAB
The aim of the society is to support the work of the library and encourage use of its resources, especially among early career researchers from the US. The IRS requires the group to aid the HAB by spending the money gathered through memberships and gifts on the library’s behalf in the United States.
Membership: Annual board meetings of the AFHAB take place during the Sixteenth Century Studies Conference (SCSC) in the fall or the Renaissance Society of America (RSA) conference in the spring. Comments and suggestions are invited at any time. Annual membership dues are $50, though larger gifts are also welcome and very gratefully received. All memberships and gifts are fully tax-deductible and should be sent to American Friends of the HAB, Prof. Dr. Sigrun Haude, University of Cincinnati, Dept. of History, 360 Arts and Sciences Hall, Cincinnati, OH 45220, USA using our membership form. Apart from the tax credit, benefits to members include: regular information about the library, its facilities, and a 25% reduction in price on most of the HAB’s scholarly publications as well as information about AFHAB sponsored sessions at SCSC or RSA. We hope that many more American scholars and visitors to the library will become members of this society and give their support to the important work that the collections of the HAB make possible. For any questions or comments, please contact the AFHAB president, Prof. Dr. Marjorie (Beth) Plummer: ude.anozira@remmulpem.
